“Quest to become Laid Out By Drink”
“Poof,” in a cloud of smoke your Fairy Godmother appears before you bringing good news.
Prince Charming is in town and has given Fairy Godmother the challenge of finding him a bride.
He would like a bride with intelligence, courage, inventiveness but above all a girl who likes to have fun. Who is the life and soul of the party and who enjoys a drink or two. In teams, you must compete for the Prince’s love, by completing tasks and solving clues. Only the team that has the most fun will gain the most points and win a life of luxury in a Land Far Far Away.'The May-Tricks Hunt'
A secret agent/matrix themed Treasure Hunt. In teams, you are winning 'bytes of freedom', the team with the most can escape from the May-Tricks.
Be warned, there are anti-virus agents around searching for you. They consider you to be dangerous and will try to trick you and wipe you from memory.
Groups are usually formed into teams to compete to be the winners.
Teams can be of any size, but normally of 4-6 people.
Winners are decided on by:
a.. information gathering,
b.. good deductions,
c.. collection of clues and items of proof,
Prizes and certificates are awarded -usually a Bottle of Champagne.
Teams are given packs and the scene of the Treasure Hunt is set. We then add in any additional challenges and answer any questions. Each pack would contain the clues, maps of the area, notebooks and pens and anything else which might be relevant for the story or hen weekend theme. The introduction takes about 20 minutes. The Hunt itself is roughly about two and a half hours, finally meeting back at the hotel or pub where we mark each hen group's answers and is usually combined with some competitive heckling. We would need approximately an hour to meet each team and score answers.
After all teams have returned, presented their evidence and been marked, we will then read the scores and award the certificates and champagne prize to the winners.
Additional aspects.
We usually set extra challenges on the day.
a.. You might have to find items with a certain number, and somewhere/ something beginning with a certain letter with relevance to the story.
b.. You might have to find as many items as possible that relate to a certain question in the pack,
c.. and for many of the questions, they also have to bring back proof that they have visited the locations.
d.. Most importantly we like to include the photo challenge. As most people now have camera phones, points are scored for getting pictures of the other teams.
e.. We also join in on this challenge as agents or saboteurs and try to catch teams as they go around the Treasure Hunt route.
